Friday, September 3 – Upper Shallotte River
It has been awhile since we paddled through the town of Shallotte and out into the tidal marshes that run toward Rivers Edge golf course. This is an out and back of about 5-6 miles. We can turn at any time however. We will meet at the chapel at 2:30 and be ready to launch from the town floating dock (intersection of Rt. 130 and Bus 17) by 3:15. When we finish, there are a few good places to eat including Duffers, Chilis, and China Buffet.


Thursday, September 9 – Breakfast Paddle
We will get an early start out of Fish Factory Road and paddle across the ICW into the tidal creeks just to the east of the Oak Island Bridge. You have your choice of three different launches: sandy beach, paved boat ramp or floating dock. Meet at the chapel at 7:15. We should be on the water by 7:45 for the 4 mile loop. When we’re done, the Wildlife Grill on FFR serves good breakfast along with local atmosphere.
